CRH Extends Laboratory Hours

Calais Regional Hospital has announced extended outpatient laboratory service hours for patient testing.  The new extended hours are Monday – Thursday: 7 am – 7 pm, Friday: 7 am – 5 pm, and Saturday: 8 am – 1 pm.

Baileyville Police Report

The Baileyville Police Department has been busy the last two weeks handling vehicle stops, stolen money, domestic disputes, agency assists, accidents and violations of protective orders.

On March 11, the police reported to Houlton Road to deliver a notice of death to a relative who is a resident of Baileyville.

Ryan Norton, 26, of Calais was summonsed 3/19/13 on Main Street for theft.

Calais Recreation Department International Basketball Tournament

The Knights from the Cherryfield area earned the 2013 Calais Recreation 7/8-grade International Basketball Tournament championship over the weekend. Members included Coaches Skipper Alley and Ben Mugford and players Josiah Couture, Jaxson Marston, Cole Willey, Chad Perry, Hayden Pineo, Blaine Grant, Cody Courchain, Mark Anthony, Drew Fletcher, Bryce Rolfe, Noah Ramsdell, and Bretton Dinsmore.

Calais Rec. Women’s Basketball League

The second season of the Calais Recreation Department’s women’s basketball league is underway.   Fifty-four women ages 18 and older from all over eastern Washington County make up six teams in the league, an increase in participation of nearly 100%.  Games take place at Calais Elementary School on Sunday evenings.

BAILEYVILLE – Audrey Mae Moreside, 87, passed away on March 20, 2013 in Bangor surrounded by her family.  Audrey was born on May 15, 1925 to Burleigh and Fannie (Flood) Perkins in Baileyville where she spent her childhood and graduated from Woodland High School class of 1943.
