Calais Celtic Concerts to Open Their Third Season with Irish Musicians; “Open the Door for Three”

In coordination with New England Celtic Arts, The Calais Celtic Concert Series will present Irish Trio “Open the Door for Three” at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Calais Maine, on Friday Feb. 21. Curtain time will be at 7:00 PM U.S., 8:00 PM Canadian. Doors will open at 6:00 PM.

MARY E. CHRISTIE

 Calais – Mary Elizabeth Christie, 83, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014.  Mary was born in Calais on April 5, 1930, daughter of the late Charles Andrew and Ethel Mae (Samson) Christie.  She attended school in Calais and worked as a stitcher for Wareknitters.  In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by a brother Lloyd Christie.

Baileyville – Barry Richard Dwelley, 73, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Brooksville Regional Hospital in Florida.  Barry was born in Princeton on February 11, 1940, son of the late Duane and Jessie (Penny) Dwelley.  He graduated from Princeton High School, Class of 1958, and on November 10, 1962, he married Joyce Robinson.

USCG Auxillary to Offer “Paddle Smart Safety Course” at the CCLC

The Cobscook Community Learning Center will be the site of a two-part U.S. Coast  Guard Paddle Smart Safety course, conducted by Doug Gaither, USCG Reserve. The course will be offered on Saturday, March 8 and 15, 10:00am-12:00 pm.
