It was a teachable moment, a moment when all young athletes could have learned an important  lesson, but adults in the community failed to show the intestinal fortitude to just say, “No, you will not be allowed to use vulgar language while you are representing our school. No, you will not lose your temper and flip off a teammate from the court while that player sits on the bench.

12th Annual Down East Spring Birding Festival May 22-25, 2015

The organizing committee for the Down East Spring Birding Festival is hard at work on the 12th annual event to be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 22- 25, 2014. The festival, which features guided bird walks, boat rides, and presentations for advanced, intermediate, and beginning birders has been rated one of the best in the country by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Many seniors in our area have struggled financially; the value of a dollar has slowly eroded over time and items such as utilities, groceries, fuel, medical expenses, property taxes have pinched many budgets. Once a decision to retire has been made, it becomes even more important to have a backup financial plan in the event that expenses become cumbersome.
