2015 Smolt Bolt

The Downeast Salmon Federation (DSF) would like to invite you to their 3rd annual Smolt Bolt and Bloater Bash, May 9th at their East Machias Aquatic Research Center (EMARC). The race begins at the Downeast Sunrise Trail across from Dunkin’ Donuts in Machias, and follows the Trail to the finish line at EMARC.


Codyville/Baileyville - Greg A Monk, 56, passed away peacefully at Narraguagus Bay Healthcare Facility on Tuesday April 21, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.  He was born in Fort Fairfield, Me on April 13, 1959, son of the late Lloyd & Thelma Monk.


A memorial service for Elizabeth M. Tyler, who passed away January 24, 2015, will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Baring Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Calais United Methodist Church immediately following the service.

This week Troop J responded to 124 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:


Trooper Jacob Ferland arrested Brendon Bubar, 26, of Harrington for violating his conditions of release. Trooper Staci Carpenter assisted.
