Stabbing Incident

On September 23rd, 2016 at approximately 2:30 PM, a 39 year old male from

Bronx, New York entered the Department of Motor Vehicle on Washington
Street and requested assistance for injuries consistent with a stabbing.

Despite Windy Weather, 3rd Annual Art & Crafts Along the Waterfront A Success

Saturday turned out to be windy and cool at the start of the 3rd annual Art and Crafts Along the Waterfront event. Despite the temperature and breeze that caused more than one canopy to be taken down, it was a fine day to be on the riverfront walkway in Calais. 


Judy Lynn DeMolet left this earth much too soon on August 8, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. 

Judy was born in Fairfax, Virginia on September 23, 1962. God was smiling that day as one of his angels fell to the earth. 

On the Ice in Greenland

 I recently returned from a short trip to Greenland with the U.S. Coast Guard. The Artic excursion spanned several days and presented two equally important opportunities for learning more about what's happening in the rapidly changing Arctic region on both the climate and security fronts – and how those developments impact us here in Maine and across America.

Over 400 Cyclists Will Explore Hancock and Washington Counties Between September 10 and 17

 BikeMaine, a seven-day, 350-mile cycling adventure that celebrates the people, places, culture and food of Maine, will take riders through Hancock and Washington counties between September 10 and 17. Produced by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, the event will host over 400 cyclists who will experience authentic Downeast Maine as they "Discover the Bold Coast."

A community walk will take place on the Brown Family Memorial Forest in Alexander on Sunday, September 18th, 2016.  The tour will start at 1 PM by the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine (SWOAM) gate south of the Airline and east of the Flat Road.  Watch for sign!

Here I am writing from the dining room of my home; not the hospital, my home! I was never so glad to see my own bed as I was last Thursday. I was very fortunate to have an air mattress while at CRH but it’s not the same as your own bed. I am so happy to be home.
