HUGH C. STEVENS

Hugh C. Stevens of Lady Lake, FL passed away on April 10, 2017.  Hugh was born to Thelma (King) and Hugh C. Stevens in New London, CT on October 25, 1936. He grew up in Niantic, later living in Florida and Maine.  

VFW Post 9779

 

State VFW Chaplain David Sivret of Calais Post 9779 offered the invocation and benediction for the Testimonial Dinner of State Commander Steven SanPedro.  Stories were told and an auction was held for “hugs, dog sitting, pulled pork dinner plus more” all donated unknowingly by the Commander for his charity “The House in the Woods”.

Photo: President Taft visited Eastport in 1910 and acclaimed the friendship between the United States and Canada as a wonderful example of international cooperation. IDA THORNTON RENAUD

 

Waite - Ida Mae (Thornton) Renaud, 86, passed away Easter Sunday, April 16 at EMMC in Bangor from complications of a severe stroke. Ida was born in Calais, Maine on her father's birthday (Dec. 22, 1930), daughter of Verne and Leona (Eagan) Thornton.

ISABELLA “ISSIE” GIBSON

 

Calais – Isabella Susan “Issie” Gibson, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Calais Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Issie was born in St. Stephen, NB on June 3, 1929, daughter of William and Gertrude (Steeves) Libby. 

ELSIE E. BROWN

 

Grand Lake Stream – Elsie E. Brown, 75, passed peacefully at the Robbinston Bridge Home with Debbie, Lisa and her Bridge Home family by her side on April 21, 2017.  Elsie was born to William and Elsie (Whynock) Fox on June 23, 1941 in Waltham, MA.
