Anime Drawing Classes at Axiom

Axiom Education & Training Center in Machias will offer two Anime Drawing Classes with Mary Marble beginning Saturday, August 5 and running through September 2, with a beginner’s class in the morning from 11:00am-12:30pm and an advanced afternoon class from 1:30-3:00pm.

Calais Junior High,  Calais Junior League, and Calais-Area Fall Baseball teammates Tony Dana and Kobe Saunders had the opportunity to play as AAU teammates this past weekend.  Kobe, a 13U Sluggers (of Brewer) player filled in on Tony's 14U team at the NEAAU Summer Classic in Warwick, RI.

The Day Camp program will be held at the Woodland Elementary School. Children in grades 1 / 8 (entering) from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  are welcome to participate. Washington County Emergency Organizations to Receive Funds

 

 

The Emergency Food & Shelter Program has announced that Washington County has been chosen to receive $14,637.00  to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the area.  A meeting will be held to allocate these funds on Monday , August 14th, 2017 at  Washington Hancock Community Agency, 7 VIP Drive, Machias at 10:00 a.m.

Music on the Green

The CDRC held Music on the Green last Tuesday evening. The Pitch Black Ribbons performed, a group out of the Machias area. They played a collection of Dark Americana music that kept the crowd singing along. The concert was sponsored by Jo’s Pizza who also gave away two gift cards. (By Kaileigh Deacon).

Comedy Night to Raise Funds for Children’s Clothes

The Calais Lions Club and the Riverview Lions Club in Moncton have joined forces to put on a stellar night of comedy to raise money for local children who are in need of clothing. The show will feature four great comedians from Maine and the Maritimes along with a 50/50 raffle. Although the show benefits children, the comedy will be aimed at an adult audience.
