 Here it is, the end of August already. It has been a beautiful summery month although we could sure use some rain. Texas would probably be very happy to give us a few feet of theirs. Several inches would be nice.

David Mallett to Perform at Triangle Park

The cool breezes of Maine’s northlands have flowed through the songs of David Mallett for more than four decades. His latest, Greenin Up, is a compilation of some re-recordings of his finest work. Greenin’ Up is the culmination of a musical career that began when Mallett was eleven years old, playing in a country and folk duo.

CRH Nurses Take Part in Maine Nursing Preceptor Education Program

Chair Affair Auction is Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 5:30 P.M.

This year’s Chair Affair Auction is right around the corner. The annual fundraiser for Calais Downtown Revitalization Coalition (CDRC) is Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 5:30 p.m.before the weekly Music on the Green concert. About 30 Adirondack chairs and some fences will be up for auction thanks to the sponsorship and creative efforts of local businesses.

2017 Eastport Pirate Festival Announced

Ahoy Mates! The Eastport Pirate Festival committee has announced that the easternmost city in the USA will once again host the largest Pirate Festival in Northern New England and Atlantic Canada.  Starting the Friday after Labor Day and continuing through Sunday, your favorite pirate characters will once again descend on Eastport for a weekend of swashbuckling fun.
