To Amy and Joshua C. Noyes of Topsfield, a girl, Kyrie Carter Marie Noyes born on October 4, 2017 weighing 7lbs., 10oz., 20 inches long.

To Donna Furlong and Matthew Wiggett of Calais, a girl, Charlotte June Wiggett born on October 6, 2017 weighing 7lbs., 9oz., 20 3/4 inches long.

WILLIAM N. PULK SR.

Robbinston – William Nelson Pulk Sr., 74, passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Calais Regional Hospital.  Billy was born on March 28, 1943, son of Raymond Pulk Sr. and Mary (Skidds) Pulk.

'Blues Giant' is Eastport-Bound

The Eastport Arts Center is excited to announce a concert by blues-inspired Americana guitarist and songwriter Sid Whelan on Saturday, October 21 at 7 p.m. Known for well-crafted lyrics and harmonically-rich guitar voicings, Whelan, a songwriting student of Steve Earle, writes songs which tackle difficult themes of contemporary American life.

Lioness of the Year

We have had a few showers since last week, but we have not had enough rain to really soak into the ground.  The days have cooled somewhat but all in all, we have enjoyed another week of fine October weather.
