Rabies Identified in East Machias

According to the Town of East Machias, a confirmed case of feline rabies in a feral cat was identified along the Means' Cottage Road (off Hadley's Lake Road). The Center for Disease control confirmed the same cat had feline HIV. Please contact your local town or animal control officer if you see an animal that you suspect has rabies due to erratic or unusual behavior.

Youth Yoga Offered at EAC

 

The Eastport Arts Center will offer Tiny Yogis, children’s yoga classes, on January 18 and 25 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Instructor Caroline Coleman Dilio will teach yoga through music, dance and storybooks, and young participants will even learn meditation.

Monday afternoon the Lady Dragons hosted a solid Class C squad from Fort Kent. Woodland jumped early with 6from Jennie Cox, 5 by Sadie Smith and 4 from Shawna Monk to take a 15-7 lead after 8 minutes. The Lady Warriors battled back and closed the half down just 3, 24-21.
