Remembering Eastport's International Ice Carnival

Enjoying a hot dog at one of Eastport's International Ice Carnivals in the 1950s are young Joe Robbins and Jeanne Robbins (Peacock). The carnivals, which featured skaters such as members of the Algonquin Skating Club of St. Andrews, remain fondly regarded by many in the Eastport community. (Photo courtesy of Joanne Robbins Emus)

It’s 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon and the sun is still shining. The days are getting longer, and I love it.  Last night’s rain left the yard a glare of ice. You will need skates to get to the door.
