Tim Sample Show to Benefit Edmunds Playground

Nationally-renowned New England humorist Tim Sample will be performing at Edmunds Consolidated school to raise funds for the school’s playground. Like all of Sample’s shows, the performance will be family-friendly with no off-color language. The show will be held on April 27th at 7:00 p.m.

He was born June 1, 1934, in Calais, Maine, son of Guy and Verna (Grant) Saunders. He was preceded in death by four sisters; Muriel, Charlotte, Beverly, and Phoebe; and a brother, Grant Saunders.

Crandall Appointed MDEA Commander Over Washington County

The recently retired sheriff of Aroostook County, Darrell Crandall of Houlton, has been named the northern commander for the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA).  It is a job he previously held until 2013, when he left the drug agency to rejoin to Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.  Crandall was elected sheriff in 2014 and retired last month.  He succeeds Peter Arno who recently re
