Baileyville Town Council Chair Tim Call announced Tuesday morning that Baileyville resident John Larkin has been named and has accepted the position of Baileyville Town Manager. “John will begin in the office on Monday, February 11 and be at the council meeting that evening,” said Call.

John is a former Woodland Dragon. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1987 and entered Johnson State College in Vermont that fall. Then he transferred to the University of Maine at Machias and graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in public administration.

Through the years he has worked for Domtar and Machias Savings Bank while serving an appointed position as Baileyville Town Treasurer for several years.

“I am excited to take on the challenge of what Baileyville is facing and I hope to help the town improve,” said Larkin. I believe we have many opportunities to capitalize on and now is the time to begin. I look forward to a long term relationship with the Town of Baileyville.”

The Town of Baileyville has no had a long term relationship with a town manager since the days when Jack Clukey served so a long term relationship is what the Council (and the residents) are seeking.
