This past year the Calais Council conducted its annual Tootise Roll Drive during the Columbus Day weekend. Knights stood out in front of stores and buildings in Princeton, Woodland and Calais with bright yellow aprons, giving out Tootsie Rolls for cash donations of which 100% goes to handicapped and charitable programs in the local community and state. Eighty percent stays in the local area and 20% goes to the state.

With 90 Councils throughout the state, the State Organization will pool 20% from each Council and make donations to needy individuals and organizations in the State.

The Calais Council has been rated in the top ten producers of this program for the last 25 years and collectively the Calais Council has raised over $80,000.00 over those past 25 years. Grand Knight Madore wishes to thank the generosity and kindness of the local citizens and businesses in our communities because this project would not be the tremendous success it is without them! Also, thanks to the individual Knights who donated their time to this worthy cause.
