The PES Outdoor Club traveled to the University of Maine Machias’ pool for some mid-winter swimming. Students in grades 4-8 are looking forward to Hermon Mountain in a couple of weeks.

All staff and students are participating in Move to Improve by walking in the gym each school day from 7:30-7:45. It’s good physical activity and a wonderful chance for students and staff across grades to interact. Lewey’s Island Masonic Lodge #138 is sponsoring Books for Bikes. For each book the students read, they complete a book review which becomes a form for a Bike and Helmet drawing. In April, members from the Lodge will award new bikes and helmets to a boy and girl Grades 3-4 and Grades 5-6. The Princeton PTO will partner with the Lodge to award bikes and helmets to a boy and girl in Grades K-2 and Grades 7 & 8.

The Munchkin Drama Club is underway rehearsing for its spring production “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Other after school activities are the LEGO Robotics Club, Woodworking, and the Fiber Club (knitting and other fiber crafts). Many boys and girls in grades 3 and 4 are playing basketball, as are Junior High boys and girls. Several Students participate in cheerleading as well. These after school activities are possible because of staff and community volunteers.
