Men’s Basketball League Playoffs

The Boll Weevils and the Gentlemen finished in first and second place respectively and have earned a bye in the first round.  This Sunday 2/17 will feature the Chanticleers vs. the Lord Jeffs at 10:00 am followed by the Fighting Camels vs the Pygmies at 11:15.  The winner of the first game will play the Gentlemen at 12:30 and the winner of the second game will play the Boll Weevils at 2.  The two remaining teams will go on to play for the championship the following Sunday.

Adult Co-ed Dodgeball!

The Rec Department is now accepting registrations for our new Adult Co-ed Dodge ball league.  Teams can have 6-12 players and must have at least 3 females.  Registration forms will be accepted until February, 22nd.  Games will be played on Wednesday nights at the Rec Center beginning at 6.  Depending on the number of teams, a second night may be added.  Forms are available at the Calais City Building or by calling the Rec Department 454-8792.

Rec Basketball 

Another successful season of Calais Rec Basketball has come to an end.  I would like to thank all of the volunteers throughout the long season who helped keep the scorebook, run the clock and referee among other things; Kenny Murphy, Kris Mesman, Joe Footer, Rick Roussel, Cam Leishman.  I would also like to thank the coaches of all the teams; Bill McVicar, Tina Erskine, Rod Tirrell, Larry Saunders, Scott Carrier, Marty Richard, Jon Bell, Brian Cundiff, Ben Collins, Jason Cook, Mark Hornbrook, Rick Roussel, Rod Tirrell, Sheridan Smith, Darcey Gillespie.  Without your time and support, the Rec Basketball program wouldn’t be what it is today.  

Women’s Open Gym

Come join us for open gym at the Rec Center.  Women 18 and over are invited to show up at 2:00 at the Rec Center to play some pick up basketball.  Get your skills ready for our very popular Women’s League that will be starting next month.  FMI contact the Rec Department, 454-2761.
