Robert Stephen Skedgell, 77, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away February 11, 2013. Robert was born October 28, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts to Gerald Skedgell and Mary Skedgell nee Galbraith. He was a graduate of Brighton High School. He joined the army in 1955 and was stationed in Berlin, Germany where he was one of the multi national guards at Spandau Prison, which housed notorious Nazi war criminals. On returning to the states he worked for First National Stores while attending Bentley College. While vacationing in Maine, he met his wife Betsy and moved to Maine after their marriage. He worked at Georgia Pacific for 30 years spending the last 15 at the corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Bob was a past master of the Princeton Masonic Lodge and a member of the Shrine Club. He was a cherished husband, father and grandfather. On retirement to Ormond Beach Florida in 1999, he enjoyed golfing at Prestwick Golf Club. He is survived by his wife Betsy of 50 years; daughter Cynthia, husband Timothy and 3 granddaughters Kathleen, Erin and Megan of Kingsland, Georgia; and son John, wife Misty and grandchildren John (Jake), William and Regan of Powder Springs, Georgia. Bob was a member of the Princeton Congregational Church where he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and trustee for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be sent to the steeple fund at Princeton Congregational Church Princeton, Maine 04668.
