Hello! It is so nice to have lots of sunshine! My daffodils are finally in full bloom and I love seeing and hearing all the birds and other spring sights.

During this past week, many of our neighbors have been traveling. Maxine tells me that she just returned from a wonderful girls’ trip to Las Vegas. Maxine and her friends Natalie, Noella, Penny and Bonnie saw all the sights including the desert at South Point. She said seeing the mountains from the desert was breathtaking. The casinos were fun, and they also enjoyed the show “Menopause” at the Luxor, the Water Fountains at the Bellagio, and the erupting Volcano at the Mirage. They were hoping to enjoy a ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, but it was too windy. Maxine said that the temperature ranged from the 90’s to the 40’s while they were there, but with a warm breeze on the cool days everyone stayed comfortable. Upon returning home, Maxine’s daughter, Jean, greeted her with a welcome home dinner. Maxine, Jean, Eric, Curtis, and Paulyne Ward all enjoyed a delicious meal together, and Maxine says she was sorry to see them have to go home on Sunday. However, on Monday morning, baby Haidyn was excited to see her Nanny P!

Donna Timpe and I enjoyed a long weekend at the Samoset at a scrapbook retreat. There were almost 75 of us working on our photo albums, learning new tips and techniques, and creating great displays, cards and other projects to share with our families and friends. Donna completed a beautiful recipe book and an album filled with photos and memories from years gone by. I managed to complete an album of my nephew’s ninth birthday party at the Rock Wall at Washington County Community College - what fun it was! And I also worked on photos from my college days - more great memories!

Pastor Joe McAdams was warmly welcomed back to the Meddybemps Church. He shared many stories of his trip to the Dominican Repulic, and we are looking forward to hearing more about his mission trip. There was no Sunday School this past weekend because of school vacation, but it will resume this Sunday at 8:45. All children age five and older are welcome to attend. Church service begins at 9:30, and we welcome everyone to join.
