Donation to Woodland Public Library

Brianna Jack, daughter of Paul and Billy Jo Jack of Baileyville has become an ambassador for literacy in our area. She applied and won a grant of $2000 from the Target Foundation. Two weeks ago she had an author visit Woodland Elementary School and with her grant was able to present students with the author’s books. Last week she took some of the money and presented the Woodland Public Library with forty-five books suitable for grades K-6. Above Dawn Noyes and Sylvia Brown, Woodland librarians, accept the books from Brianna. Brianna has also founded an organization called Maine Books for Maine Kids. (Photo by Dorothy Johnson).
