The Dragon’s Den

Camille Howard

Welcome, readers, to the Dragon’s Den. We’ve got lots of exciting news for you guys, so let’s get out or shovels and dig right in!

The winter sports season has begun! Students who are interested in saying basketball, wrestling, and cheer leading attended parent player organizational meetings to meet their coaches, get a feel for the season, and sign the necessary paperwork. Junior high students playing basketball also attended tryouts, and their season will begin soon. High school sports tryouts will be held shortly, and afterwards, the excitement of the winter sports season will begin.

Seniors have been turning in lots of senior information packets and paperwork, but now they finally get to do something fun! Seniors ordered their senior t-shirts and hoodies! These shirts are a WHS tradition, and the shirts always sport the signatures of the senior class. Don’t forget, seniors, that your senior portraits are due on the 15th.

The annual Veterans Day assembly was held on Friday. This celebration of those who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces was put on by the Student Council and filled with music from the band and chorus and many new touches. A beautiful empty table ceremony was held, along with a flag folding and the traditional ribbon ceremony, one of the largest in the school’s history. It was a moving assembly. Thank you to all those who have served or are serving in the U.S. Military.

That’s all for this week at Woodland High school. We’ll have more next week , and until then, thanks for checking in.
