This holiday season, remember to thank and honor our veterans and their families.  Join Washington Hancock Community Agency (WHCA) in welcoming a new program, Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF).  Funded by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, the SSVF Program is administered by WHCA to provide supportive services for low income veteran families who are currently residing in permanent housing and at risk of losing housing or are homeless and live in Washington or Hancock counties.  Some of the services available to Veterans and their families are:  temporary financial assistance including rent, utilities, security and utility deposits, transportation, and emergency supplies; case management; assistance obtaining VA and public benefits; and outreach services.  If you are a veteran or know of a veteran and family that may qualify for services or you want further information please contact Bobbi Harris, SSVF Program Director, at 610-5916 or by email at SSVF@whcacap.org.
