President Cory Grimond of Millennium Marine USA invites you to an open house reception at the former Guilford mill in Quoddy Village on Saturday, July 26, 1 - 4 pm. There will be a tour, food and live entertainment.

The 4th of July, Old Home Week in Eastport had a couple good days for their festivities. I ventured down the day before. The streets were packed. I took pictures of the USS Anzio that docked. I walked up to a couple of stores., enjoyed Rosie’s fries.  Coolness about 20 degrees different.  I felt the humidity when I got to the Strawberry Patch.

The concerts on the Green have been enjoyable with nice warm evenings, children having a good time, dancing around to the music.

St. Anne’s had a successful three day sale last week. Lots of goodies were brought in from books, clothing, glassware, Christmas items and so much more.

The Rev. Leslie Niseu was celebrant on Sunday.

The Commemoration of the 1814 capture of the British enactment, bagpipe parade, historic walks and more on Friday and Saturday in Eastport was well attended.

The Historical Society gathered for their annual picnic at Bran Livingston’s on Sunday afternoon. It was a perfect day.

So sorry to hear about the  passing of Joan Weir of California, the daughter of Vi Gaddis.

Another birthday was celebrated at the breakfast club last Sunday for Alan Mermichi. He received several cards. Muffins were made by Norma VanDevender and Jonie Miller. We also wished Ruthie Clark a belated birthday, 

Richard Auetta of New York has been traveling back and forth to Calais hoping before long to be settled in his home.

The Down East Boys will be performing at the Second Baptist Church on Thursday, July 17th at 6:30 pm.

John and Marina Nixon were in town for a day last week, They are looking good.
