St. Croix Firehouse Had Successful Fundraising Season

Thanks to local merchants and private individuals, we were able to provide hot dogs and cold soda at a reasonable price to a gathering of hungry people every Tuesday evening through the months of June, July and August during the concerts on the green at Triangle Park, downtown Calais.

The highlight of our summer fundraising event was a drawing of a print of the St. Croix #1 Firehouse alongside City Hall. It was donated to the St. Croix No. 1 Firehouse Association to raffle off.

The drawing was held last Tuesday, August 26 on stage during the last concert downtown. The winning ticket was drawn by our own royalty, Lauren Cook (USA Teen National Maine). The winner was Carl Royer of Calais.

The St. Croix No. 1 Firehouse Association would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who have supported this project over the last 10 years. Without everyone’s help, this important piece of our history would have been lost forever.

Also, best wishes to Lauren Cook as she competes further representing Maine in the Florida National Teen Competition next July 2015.

Remember, it is old buildings like the St. Croix No. 1. Firehouse that makes our area special!
