Kenneth Clark's Civilization: A Personal View. to Be Offered at Lincoln Memorial Library in Dennysville - On Friday, January 30 at 7 p.m., the Lincoln Memorial Library in Dennysville will show the first installment of  Kenneth Clark's immensely popular television series, Civilization: A Personal View. The 13-part series will be shown at the Library in its Blue-Ray version, one episode at a time, on the last Friday of each month. Each episode lasts about an hour.

Civilization: A Personal View tells the story of Western Civilization through its art and architecture. First aired on BBC television in 1969, the series became extremely popular in the US, winning many awards. 

Civilization was written and narrated by Kenneth Clark, who was head of England's National Gallery for over a decade, as well as a leading lecturer on art, a writer, and a broadcaster. Clark's greatest talent was his ability to make the complex subject of art history interesting and accessible to ordinary viewers.
