Shead Tigerettes #2 In Eastern Playoffs

The #2 Tigerettes and # 5 ranked Machias Lady Bulldogs faced on the weekend and after a 32-minute battle where Machias trailed by 10 most of the way, the hosts came away with a narrow 53-50 victory giving each team a final 13-5 record on the regular season. Dolley helped power the hosts victory with 18-points and 9-boards, Norton hit 14, and Kate Whitney netted 10 in the win. Holly Preston continued to lead Eastport with 16, Seeley netted 14, and Mitchell added 11.



The Lady Knights were hosted in Calais this past Tuesday and fell behind early 14-6 after one and 27-22 midway. After the break the Narraguagus defense played tough holding Calais to15-points over the final two stanzas while scoring 29-points and earning a 51-42 win. Maddy McVicar paced the Lady Blue Devils with 22-points and Carson Hold added 19. In the win Kelli Kennedy hit 18, Young 10, and Osgood 17.



At Woodland the Lady Dragons took an opening frame lead 12-9, but a 22-point second period gave the Lady Blue Devils a 31-21 lead midway. 30-points over the final two frames earned Calais a 61-39 decision. Maddy McVicar and Faith Tirrell combined for 24/15 points respectively. Prue Maxwell netted 8 in the win. On the Lady Dragons Jennie Cox hit 22-points. 



In Calais the Lady Shiretowners took charge early securing a 32-23 edge midway and playing through 32-minutes to a 61-47 victory. Bouchard continued to lead Houlton with 25, Hill hit 12, Condon 10, and Gentle 8. Maddy led all players scoring 29 and Carson Hold added 9.



Lincoln played Calais on Friday and the two squads played even at 21-21 through 16-minutes, but 29-points in the second half gave the guests a 59-47 win. Good balance saw Lyons 15, Thurlow 13, Gordon 9, and 8-each by Blessaude and McIntyre. Faith Tirrell paced Calais with 4 consecutive 3’s, McVicar at 17, and Hold with 6 in the loss.



In the Lady Blue Devils final regular season contest at home Saturday saw the hosts jumped ahead in the opening half 43-8 over Fort Kent as they powered to a 60-28 win. Lovely made 13 for the Lady Warriors, while Calais had McVicar 23, Tirrell 13, Maxwell 7, and Moholland 6 in the decision.

The Lady Dragons had a solid game this past week in Eastport as they recovered quickly from 6-16 deficit after the opening 8 to a 21-21 tie at the half. The third saw the two talented squads play deadlocked with 16-each, but in the final stanza solid balance for Woodland earned them a 56-48 win over the #2 ranked Tigerettes. Jennie Cox hit 26 in the win, Sprague 8, Fitch 7, and 6-each by McDonald and Cook. Seeley led the hosts with 21, Preston hit 10, and Kirshman added 6 for the hosts.
