Library News

The Calais Free Library is the proud recipient of federal tax forms.  Stop in to find 1040; 1040 A; and 1040EZ forms. Our librarians keep a running list of what has trickled in over the past few days near the phone.  We welcome anyone looking for forms to stop in or to give us a call at 454-2758.  Also, there will be a tax clinic at the Washington County Community College on two different Saturdays: February 14 and March 14 from 9 am – 5 pm.  This clinic is a free way to get your taxes done by preparers familiar with all the new tax laws.  The clinic itself will be located in the Assembly Room in Riverview Hall.  This program is sponsored by United Way of Eastern Maine.  If you have questions, call 207-941-2926.

Our little art gallery is brimming with books, compact discs, and videos: all for sale.  This Annual Used Book sale is being carried over into February and is sponsored by the Friends of the Calais Free Library.  Please stop in and browse our wide interesting selection of gently used materials on sale at low low prices.

Lots of fun activities are scheduled at the library to brighten winter days for both adults and children alike.  Check out our website (www.calais.lib.me.us), our Facebook page, and our local newspaper to see what is happening next.  The library is also distributing monthly activity calendars to post at home so stop in and request one if you like.  We still have free passes to the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor and the Maine State Museum in Augusta.  Call 454-2758 and reserve your free pass today.
