Award-Winning Puppeteer to Pull Strings in Eastport

The Eastport Arts Center will host a special performance of “Life in Motion” by the Cashore Marionettes on Saturday, April 18 at 7 pm. In “Life in Motion,” puppeteer Joseph Cashore assembles a full cast of expressive and lifelike marionettes in a series of vignettes of everyday life, depicting such varied characters as a violinist, a mountaineer, a mother, a rock star and a homeless man. Humorous, poetic and occasionally dark, the theatrical program is intended for adult and young adult audiences. Cashore has received a Henson Foundation Grant for the development of puppetry for adult audiences; he has also received a Pew Fellowship for Performance Art and a citation from UNIMA-USA (Union Internationale de la Marionette).
