The Garden Club meets on Wednesday, May 20th at 1 pm at the Town Hall in Whiting. Demonstrations of container gardening will be done. Lunch will be served.

St. Anne’s served a lovely Mother’s Day breakfast on Saturday. The guys, mothers and little ones joined in. It was a busy time.

The St. Croix No. 1 Firehouse on Church Street held a gigantic inside yard sale on Saturday A.M. bringing out a lot of people buying lots of goodies.

The Garcelon Civic Center had a wonderful turn out on Friday and Saturday. It was filled with many displays, free drawings, food booths, samples of Ganong’s chocolate, mmm good! Flo McGeachey gave me a tour to the gigantic pool and a smaller therapeutic, work out room, walking space. It is huge in there.

Pat Yardley enjoyed Mother’s Day with family and friends at Nook and Cranny.

Mike McLean, the flags look wonderful. You are such a devoted guy to the legion and our veterans. We sure do appreciate it.

ECW met on Tuesday evening, opening with prayer. Thank yous were read and treasurer’s report was given. Discussed Alex’s Walk For Cystic Fibrosis and gave a donation. Cards will be sent to the shut ins. A pie sale in July was discussed.

The Volunteer Appreciation breakfast is Thursday, May 14th. Drop by between 7:30 - 8:30 am at Calais Regional Hospital.
