A Program on the Development, Collections and Programs of The Tides Institute & Museum of Art presented by The Pembroke Historical Society

Over the past few years, led by Mr. Hugh French, the Tides Institute & Museum of Art has become a vibrant and important organization, not only for Eastport, but throughout Downeast Maine. Starting with the restoration of an old downtown bank building, and now including historic collections of paintings and other graphics, and documents, TIMA has taken a lead in providing art exhibits and instruction in many arts & graphic skills and preservation.

On Monday evening, June 29th, Mr. Hugh French, director of TIMA, will make a presentation on the Institute’s development, collections, and programs. The event is an important part of the cooperation among various arts, history, and cultural organizations in eastern Washington County.

Mr. French’s presentation will be informative for anyone with interests in local and regional history as seen and preserved in art, architecture, and print. The June 29th program at the Pembroke Historical Society is appropriate for all students and adults, and visitors to the area are encouraged to attend to find out more about our communities. The program begins at 7:00 PM, and is preceded by a brief business meeting to which all are welcome, members and non-members alike. Admission is free, and free refreshments will be served following the presentation. Donations to the Pembroke Historical Society are appreciated.
