Remember not to park in front of the school building, it is an emergency zone and bus area.  There is a small parking lot to your right when you first enter the driveway and then a larger one to your left.  There is also a waiting area by the office so that classrooms are not disturbed during the school day.  Please stop at the office and Mrs. McDonough will make arrangements for you to get your child.

Please make sure if your child wears boots to school, that they have sneakers to change into.  Also the weather has changed.  Your child must be properly dressed, or they will be kept in at recess.

The PTG and 8th Graders have joined together for the purpose of raffling off a Christmas Basket.  In the basket, so far, is candy, teapot and tea cups, grandparent picture frame and more. The baskets are $1 each or 6 for $5. If you have anything you would like to donate to the basket, or would like to purchase tickets please contact AES at 454-2623 during school hours.

Band and chorus are well underway at AES and a concert has tentatively been scheduled for December 17th.  There is still a student interested in playing the trombone if you or someone you knows has one they would like to give the school.  Other instruments would be greatly welcomed too.  Students are enjoying experimenting to find just the right fit for their musical talents.

The kids in the AES Library have been very busy.  The younger kids have been doing all kinds of penguin-themed papers, The older kids have been enjoying working on a penguin-themed packet and the 7th and 8th Graders did a research unit on Animals of the Arctic.  Of course there have also been some penguin crafts to fill in with, just for fun!  Are you seeing a Theme here?  Perhaps coming to the Community Christmas Party may solve this mystery.

Talking about the Community Christmas party, plans are well underway for this coming weekend at AES, a party for the young and the young at heart.  The organizers are looking for refreshments, sandwiches, crock pots and sweets are on the menu if you would like to help.  Come visit with Santa, enjoy the AES students’ work adorning the halls, listen to some music and munch and mingle with your neighbors.
