Princeton Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

A few children visit with Santa.

Saturday was a beautiful evening for the Friends of Princeton annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Legacy Square in Princeton. The new Parks and Recreation Committee made up two unique games of wreath toss and get the bean bags into the snowman. The children had a fun time and won mugs with cocoa and a toy and new tee shirts from the committee.

At 6:00 the tree was lit and members of Sunrise Christian Church sang and led attendees in traditional Christmas carols.

Then all followed Santa on the fire truck to the fire station. Many elves from Friends made a wonderful variety of cookies which were bagged and given out to all attendees. Also cocoa was provided by Friends, made and served by Sue Storey and Keith Damon. Once again Deb Mann provided a Christmas ball decoration for everyone.

A special display was set up for Santa to visit with the children and candy canes were given out by the Princeton Fire Department.

With so many helping hands from our small town, this event is truly about giving to others and a real community celebration of Christmas.
