January 31st has been named National Handwriting Day.

Groundhog Day is on Feb. 2nd.

Don’t forget, Eastport Arts Center opened for weekly programs at 3 pm on Sunday, January through April.

I enjoyed Pastor Bobby Oliver’s devotional in the Advertiser last week. Take time to read it.

13 Hours is playing at the Calais Cinema January 27th and 28th. I’m sure it will be a full house. Everyone has been waiting for it to show.

Alberta Craft is having treatments in Bangor and going through a rough time. A card would cheer her up.

St. Andrews was buzzing last week. Mounties and police overseeing the arrival of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and wife. I heard 1,500 people were lined up and waiting to enter for a handshake and a few words. A free spaghetti supper was served on Sunday. He is a nice looking young gentleman. Proud to have him aboard.

As cold as it was on Saturday evening, a large gathering attended the Second Baptist Church to hear the Ascensions perform. As always, a lovely lunch was served.

There was good attendance to the boys’ and girls’ basketball game on Friday evening. The girls were strong and won their game.

Pat Yardley thought she got down south to escape the cold. I hear it has been terrible down there. Time to come home, Pat.

A Singspiration will be held on Sunday, January 31st at the Second Baptist Church at 6 pm.
