Fire at St. Croix Tissue

A fire at St. Croix Tissue was called in early last Friday morning.  According to Baileyville Fire Chief John McPhee, the call was received at 4:30 a.m.

Chief McPhee reported that it was on a roof of the mill and included a dumpster full of debris.  "The dumpster was included but it burned about a 25 foot square area in addition to that."

The cause of the fire has not been determined, according to the fire chief.  The scene was cleared at 6:30 a.m. and there were no injuries.

 

Baileyville Fire Department was assisted by crews from Princeton, Calais, and Alexander Fire Departments.
