Joey Wallace of Alexander, along with his friend Billy Gibson Jr., came in second place on Saturday, May 7th at the Maine Blade Runners Bass Tournament on Crawford Lake.  They caught 5 fish, which totaled a little over 14 pounds.  Reports were that there looked to be at least 25 boats on the lake Saturday.

Friends and family joined together to support Ron McArthur in his battle against cancer on May 7th at AES with a Pot-luck Supper and a Chinese Auction. We cannot forget those wonderful Caretakers and Helpers that sometimes get overlooked in all that they do for their loved ones and those in need.  It is a job they do lovingly and sometimes as family members without any pay of any kind other than the love they give and get.

Lucky Loser the past week at Randy’s Variety was Jason Manza.  If you would like a chance at being a Lucky Loser, stop by Randy’s Variety and check out how.

I had a busy week at the Beckett Center.  We went to WCCC to practice for the Spring Special Olympics, went for Community walks, some swam in Machias at the University of Maine and we finished the week by heading to the Spring Special Olympics in Machias at the University of Maine.  When we arrived we registered, had a parade outside, then headed in for our events.  I participated in wheelchair racing and softball-throw and received 2 second place ribbons and a 3rd place ribbon for my efforts!  For lunch we had choices of hamburgers or hotdogs, chips, cookies, lemonade and the ice cream truck stopped by.  I had a delicious peanut butter ice cream cone.  It was really nice to see all the pageant girls there helping. Two of our local girls. Ava Croman and Nathalia Orellana helped out.

Mom continues to recover from her surgery slowly and I think she is becoming a bit impatient.
