High School Baseball


The Dragons hosted PVHS this past Monday and jumped to a quick advantage When Matthew Miller singled stole second and was knocked home by an Alex Morrison single. Alex helped his own cause holding the guests scoreless through two outs in the third when a triple and error put PVHS on the board. A big fourth put the game out of reach as the Howlers powered to a 10-4 win. Matthew Miller led all players going 4-4 at the plate with Hayward, Morrison, and McDonald each adding a hit. Alex gave up 6-hits over 5-frames with 6k and 3bb. Luke McDonald allowed a hit with 4k and 3bb in 2-frames.

Against Southern Aroostook Wednesday a Justin Monk double and Dylan Leighton single in the second inning tied the game 1-1, then SA went ahead 2-1 in the third. This held through four frames when in the fifth SA took the game with a big 7-run inning as they played to a 10-5 victory. Drew Hayward allowed 6-hits with 8k, 3bb, and just 1-earned run over 5-frames. At the plate Justin Monk and Dylan Leighton were repeat hitters. Morrison and McDonald each added a single in the loss.

A trip to Machias proved a tough game for the hosts as they allowed 17-runs off 9-hits in a 5-inning contest. Alex Morrison and Luke McDonald combined allowing just 1-hit with 9k and 4bb. Alex Morrison, Gavin Gardner, Dylan Leighton each earned 2-singles with Hayward, Miller, and McDonald each connecting for a hit. Nick Mallar had the lone Bulldog hit.

In Harrington the Shead Tigers dominated the hosts collecting 18-hits over a shortened 5-inning contest. Ryan Eylar and Steve Morrison paced the attack collecting 3-hits each. Hunter Dempsey had a double/single for the Knights.

The Tigers romped 12-2 over East Grand Tuesday as Matt Harris, earned 3-singles pacing the Tiger offense. Aiding the attack was Morrison, Isaac Curtis, and Noah Curtis with repeat hits in the win.

Greenlaw, Farrell, Harris, Morrison, and Eylar combined in the 3-hitter against the guests.

In Calais a shortened contest gave the Narraguagus Knights a big 21-3 victory over their Blue Devil hosts. Chad Perry, Blaine Grant, and Hunter Dempsey collected two hits each pacing the win. For Calais Caden Williams earned 2 doubles/singles. 

At 4-0 on the season the Tigers hosted Calais and secured a 5-inning 10-0 victory with Riley Demolet leading the attack with a single/double and 3rbi. Matt Harris had a 2rbi double, and Steve Morrison a single and 3-runs. Cody Pellerin had the lone single for Calais as five Tiger pitchers took 11k and allowed just 1-hit.
