High School Softball



At Eastport the Tigerettes had a big 9-run fourth inning to earn a 10-6 victory over the Calais Lady Blue Devils. Cierra Seeley, Holly Preston, and Brooke Robinson each had singles for the hosts. AnnaJean McClure had 3-singles for Calais and Logan Huckins added single/double. Tirrell, Donovan, Porter, Harris, and Farrar each added singles for the guests.

In Harrington a super tough freshman pitcher, Lanie Perry, hurled a three hitter against Calais with 14k and 2bb securing a 17-1 win. Madison Leighton at 4-4 and Lanie Perry 3-4 led the Lady Knights 10-hit attack. Calais had AnnaJean McClure with 2-singles and a pinch-hit single by Kelsey LaCoote.

 At Machias the Calais Lady Blue Devils collected 8-hits and took advantage of 9-errors and a number of walks to secure a 24-10 win over the Machias Lady Bulldogs. Sydney Farrar and AnnaJean McClure were repeat hitters for Calais. Faith Tirrell connected for a sixth inning leadoff home run and Logan Huckins added a 3rbi single in the fourth.

The Woodland Dragons had an offensive breakout at Machias as they pounded 22-hits with multiple walks to secure a big victory over their Lady Bulldog hosts. Sadie Smith and Sophie McDonald alternated positions in the battery allowing just one single with 7k and 2bb. Shauna Monk, Kasey Grass, Shaye Beers, Sophie McDonald, Jennie Cox, and Sadie Smith had multiple hits in the decision.

Lanie Perry stopped a tough Shead team allowing just a lone single to Holly Preston with 10k. Lanie aided her own cause with a single and grand slam home run; Alley, Kennedy, and Wallace also added 2-hits each in the win.

In a battle royal at Woodland on Thursday the visiting SA guests won a 7-6 thriller in a see-saw contest that had the lead never extend beyond 1-run. Shawn Monk led the Lady Dragons with 2-singles and a triple, while Sophie McDonald had two doubles producing 2-rbi. Poole, Andrews, Cox, and Halie Smith all added a single in the loss.
