Pomona Grange met at Perry Grange on May 3rd  following a delicious pot luck supper. Guest for the evening was Rick Groton, Master of the Maine State Grange. Helen Brooks presided over the meeting, in which Mr. Groton spoke about the future of the Grange and answered questions. Louise Lee and Rick Groton won the CWA prizes. It was good to see everyone again. The next Pomona meeting will be on June 7th at Cathance Grange in Cooper.


Last Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm, the Sewall Memorial Congregational Church commemorated “World Day of Prayer”. Helen Brooks organized the event. It started out with everyone singing “What A Friend we Have in Jesus”. Helen then lit a candle and recited a poem. Silent prayers were offered for families, church, community, county and country. All sang “My Country Tis of Thee”.  Prayers for the State of Maine was followed by “O Beautiful For Spacious Skies” sung by the congregation. For the veterans, the hymn “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory”. Prayers for peace on earth were offered ending with the Lord’s Prayer and singing “Blest Be The Tie That Binds.”
