Dr. Peter Wilkinson Receives National and State Recognitions

When dealing with your health, nothing’s more important than getting care you can trust.  This is exactly what is provided at CRMS Internal Medicine by Dr. Peter Wilkinson. He was recently recognized for the excellent care he provides in the office and his over 30 year commitment to our community.

Dr. Peter Wilkinson and his staff at CRMS Internal Medicine achieved three NATIONAL recognitions through the Pathways to Excellence Program of the Maine Health Management Coalition.   The program promotes and measures quality of care in the primary care setting.  To earn recognition, providers must meet identified quality care benchmarks and practice nationally recognized guidelines.  These recognition rates are publicly reported on the Get Better Maine website.

CRMS Internal Medicine was recognized for providing excellent care in the areas of: Cardiac Care, Diabetes Care and Use of Methods to Make Care Safer.

Dr. Wilkinson was also recently recognized by the Maine Osteopathic Association for his commitment to rural health at their annual convention this summer.    Dr. Wilkinson began working in Washington County in 1986, first practicing at Peter Dana Point and then Waite, before settling in Calais in 1991.   He has been an active staff member at Calais Regional Hospital throughout his tenure, as well as serving as Chief of Staff, on various hospital committees and the Board of Directors.

The Maine Osteopathic Association presented Dr. Wilkinson with a 30-year pin to recognize his consistent, outstanding care of his patients, and his deep commitment to our Eastern Maine Community.   Calais Regional Hospital is extremely proud to have Dr. Peter Wilkinson as part of our care team.   “He takes great care of his patients and he is well respected among his peers,” states Rod Boula, CRH CEO.  “These are both very deserving recognitions.”
