Two Minutes To Save A Life

By Amy Jeanroy

Calais Fire and Rescue were available during the International Homecoming Festival on Saturday, sharing how it only takes two minutes to save a life.

Those willing to try, were able to practice giving chest compressions to dummies, while listening to music that had just the right beat(100 compressions per minute) to keep blood flowing to the brain of a person needing help, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

Many people took them up on the offer, and these young community members seemed to enjoy the lesson.
