Area Farmers' Markets Celebrate Snapshot Week

Last week was National Farmers’ Week and the area markets embraced the celebration with special activities all week. 

From tattoos to coloring pages, seed planting to pulled pork dinners, the Calais, Eastport, and Princeton markets were filled with fresh produce and plenty of festivities and live music. 

Many of the market-goers filled out anonymous surveys to inform the state of Maine that not only are the markets in Washington county alive and well, they are well loved. Thanks to the survey participants, almost 100 surveys were submitted, showing a strong customer base for area farmers.
