The first Alexander Elementary School cross country meet took place on Wednesday the 14th in Woodland.  The AES students did a fantastic job and even had to run in the rain.

On Tuesday, September 27th Hock Meyer Studio will be at the school to take school pictures and also Cross Country pictures.

Don’t forget that Friday’s 2:30-3:30 are practices for the Cross Country team.  The next cross country meet will be Wednesday September 28th at the DiCenzo Complex in Calais.  All meets start at 4:00 p.m.

PTG will be holding their first meeting of the year on Monday, September 26th at 6:00 pm.  AES will be looking for new faces and new ideas.

The Alexander Elementary School has received the Fresh Fruits and Veggies Grant again this year, so they are able to provide your children with fresh fruits and veggies throughout the year.

This week in the AES Library the kids were busy celebrating the coming of fall.  Pre-K heard the story “I am a Leaf” by Jean Marzollo and made their rendition of a tree full of fall colors by working on the fine motor skill of tearing.  The kindergarten and 1st graders along with grades 2 and 3 listened to the story “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn.  Both classes began work on different projects that had to do with that book.  If you would like to see some of the projects the kids work on in the library check Randy’s Variety Facebook page where there is an album of some of the projects.  Grades 4 thru 8 stopped by the library to use it as a study hall, sign out books.

Don’t forget about the Alexander School website at  www.alexanderelementary.org.  There are some resources available on this page.
