CRH Health and Wellness Fair

Calais Regional Hospital invites the community to its 2016 Health and Wellness Fair on Tuesday, October 4, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the WCCC Gym.

This free event, designed to promote healthy living for all ages, offers a variety of screenings, educational materials, giveaways, and drawings for prizes.   Representatives from various health organizations will provide information and be available to answer questions. The event includes free health screenings such as body mass index, blood pressure and glucose and cholesterol levels. FREE Adult Flu vaccinations will be provided throughout the event courtesy of CRH.   Add to that, healthy food demonstrations and samples, giveaways and door prizes!

The Health Fair also offers a chance to give back and help someone in need.  You can save a life by donating blood or registering as a blood marrow donor.   A representative of Be the Match will be onsite and able to register adults age 18-44 as a blood marrow donor.  Simply complete the form and provide a cheek swab and you’re done!  It takes about 15 minutes for the whole process.  The Red Cross will also be onsite during the event conducting a blood drive.  Donors can register for the blood drive at 800-733-2767 or online at www.redcrossblood.org.

This health fair is an excellent opportunity to connect with non-profit organizations and health service organizations as they showcase programs and services aimed at improving health. Come out and see what the area has to offer for information and services to keep you and your family healthy.  Call the CRH Community Relations office at 454-9227 with any questions.
