A bit short on news this week. Please contact me with your news, birthdays or anniversaries.

We had a great Labor Day Weekend with great weather Saturday and Sunday for folks spending time at the lake, those motorcycling and for those traveling to fairs.  Monday wasn’t bad either for those packing up and traveling home.  Another sign that summer is over besides Labor Day Weekend is the fact that Randy’s Variety begins closing at 8:00 p.m.

Folks gardens are beginning to really produce the last few weeks and even though ours isn’t doing great this year, we have neighbors that treat us well and have been sharing some fresh produce.

Dan Schall will be at the People’s United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 8th for a concert.  There will be light refreshments after the show.  This is always a good time.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the next Breakneck Mountain ATV Club Meeting on September 28th at the Club House on the Cooper Road in Alexander beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations to Marie Spencer on recently becoming a licensed child care provider.  Marie has taken all kinds of classes, and made sure that her home is up to code for this very special licensing to take care of our precious little ones.  Marie is married to Jay Spencer and has four children, Cadence, Nora, Joseph and Blake. Marie Spencer was formerly Marie Provencher and grew up in Crawford and attended AES.  Marie is the daughter of Debbie Hanson of Crawford and Jim Provencher of Calais.

Elizabeth McVicar has spent several days this past week in St. George, New Brunswick visiting with her in-laws. She no sooner got home when she and her daughter-in-law Michelle headed to Waterville for the day stopping on the way home in Bangor to visit with son Shawn and friends.

This week, while with the Beckett Center crew I enjoyed playing UNO, Yahtzee, Wii bowling and playing Bingo.  Several folks went swimming at the Garcelon Center in St. Stephens and horseback riding.  This week we also went to Linda’s Pizza in Baileyvile, played arcade games and had lunch.   On Friday I was able to go to Subway with some of my friends to eat out and have a great social gathering.  Also on Friday we worked at the Beckett Center Yard Sale.
