A Public Organ Recital

Music from five centuries including Bach, Mendelssohn, Franck, and Sousa!

St. Anne's Church is pleased to announce the installation of a refurbished Moller pipe organ. Chesapeake Organs of Portageville, New York relocated the instrument, built in 1950 by the M. P. Moller Organ Company of Hagerstown, Maryland, from a church in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Church members renovated the historic church's organ chamber, and the organ was revised to fit the space and acoustics of St. Anne's. Containing over 450 individual pipes, the newly-installed instrument has the musical resources to accompany congregational song and play a wide range of organ repertoire.

Timothy Smith, organist, has performed with The Boston Symphony Orchestra and on national broadcasts of Pipedreams and Performance Today. He earned music degrees from Wheaton College, Northwestern University and The Boston Conservatory. He is Organist & Choirmaster of Trinity Church, Binghamton, New York. Mr. Smith's program at St. Anne's Church will include Renaissance dances,  a Mendelssohn organ sonata, Cesar Franck's Prelude, Fugue and Variation, music by the great J. S. Bach, and a march by John Philip Sousa.  A dessert reception will be held after the concert in the Parish Hall.  FMI call 454-8016
