Time for the Autumn Soup & Poetry Gathering at the Calais Free Library

Once again, those who enjoy Poetry or Soup or Both, which would be Pooh’s choice, should be sure to find their way to the Calais Free Library on Friday, November 4th at 6 p.m.  Ted Carter will again be serving as our excellent Master of Ceremonies, keeping things moving along and making sure everyone who wishes gets a turn, or two, reading poetry they have enjoyed and perhaps have written themselves.  The wider the variety, the more interesting the evening becomes.  Each gathering always brings out some different aspect of poetry, including why people write poetry at all, what inspires the writers present, and how different types relate or vary.

Of course, the evening begins with enjoying the various options for soups, breads, and cookies which are always nearly as intriguing as the poems.  The Friends of the Calais Free Library and the library’s trustees are the cooks and sponsors of the occasion.  New members for the Friends group are also welcome to join the volunteer corps.  Young people would be most welcome, since they add further variety of interests and opinions.  It’s always a wonderful, entertaining, and enjoyable evening.  Come to share or simply to enjoy this special time.
