The AES Friday Announcements included a request letting folks know that the School is looking for free used golf clubs and golf balls if you have any you are willing to donate please contact the school during school hours at 454-2623.

AES is again selling organic garlic that they grew in the school garden.  Garlic is selling for $3.00 per 3 ounce bag.  The funds raised help keep the garden going.  Interested in purchasing some, stop by the school during school hours or ask any seventh or eighth grade student.

Just a reminder, all soccer and cross country uniforms need to be returned to the school.

It is that time of year again it is getting chilly on the hill at AES and all students should come to school prepared to go outside for recess.  That would include warmer outerwear, hats and perhaps gloves.  Also appropriate foot wear for the playground is a good idea.

AES is having a food drive from November 3rd to the 18th.  Non-perishable items will be accepted.

The PTG (Parent Teacher Group) will be having a Thanksgiving Basket Raffle which will include a complete dinner! Tickets will be sold until November 18th.  Students will have an opportunity every day to purchase tickets.  If community members would like to buy tickets stop by the school office and see Brenda McDonough.

A new activity at AES will be Adult Only Volleyball on Tuesday’s from 7:00-9:00 pm.

Please make sure all paperwork from the student handbook is returned to the school office, the back page of the handbook says you and your student have read the handbook and understand the AES policies.  There is also other vital information for the school there.

Band at AES began on Tuesday, October 4th for those who signed up.  There is still time to join band and if you have a student, who is interested, please contact the school at 454-2623 for more information.

Parents of 8th graders, please send a note to school with your child to let Mr. Flood know what days of the the week are good for an 8th grade meeting.  Meeting times are usually 6 p.m.  It is never too early to start planning for the end of the year activities.

If you drive by AES, check out the windows in the Atrium. Grades 4 thru 8 have spent time during their Art Class decorating for fall.  There are some really budding artists at AES.
