CALAIS – Constance (Connie) G. Rice MacArthur, 94, passed away at Calais Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was born in Pembroke, Maine to the late, Vesta M. (Carter) Rice and Samuel E. Rice.  She is survived by her son, Benjamin McArthur and his wife, Linda A. McArthur of Alexander;  her daughter, Norma J. Pennell and her husband, Darrell C. Pennell of Crawford; three grandchildren, Mike McArthur, Steve Pennell, and Tim Pennell and his wife, Denise Pennell; five great grandchildren, Brandan McArthur, Devan McArthur, Delaney (Lane) R. Pennell, Grant T. Pennell, and Samantha (Sam) L. Pennell; two brothers, Ted Jones and Dennis Jones; and one sister, Cynthia DeWitt; a sister-in- law, Janet Brown; several nieces and nephews.  Connie was predeceased by her husbands, Benjamin H. McArthur, Sr. and Malcolm MacArthur; a brother, Arthur K. Rice; and sister, Ruthella Clark. 

Connie loved being with her family, animals, traveling, dancing, was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing solitaire, was sharp as a tack at the game of cribbage, and could dance up a storm in her younger years.  She leaves behind many good friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Alexander Cemetery.
