Calais American Legion

Town News

Michael McLean

I had a busy week. On Thursday, Joanie, myself and Gary and Barbara Young attended the Canadian Legion Veterans’ Supper sponsored by St. Stephen Legion Branch #9. It was a Great meal with our fellow comrades.

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to represent the Calais American Legion at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Calais Armory. This renovation will provide so much for our National Guard and our community.

Thursday will be the Veterans’ ceremony sponsored by the English AP Class at the Calais High School at 9:15 a.m.  These students present a very professional and an emotional ceremony. Everyone is invited.

I want to thank Daniel Stewart, son of Todd and Bonnie Stewart, and Joanie’s Grandson, for his assistance removing flags in the Calais area. Daniel is home after serving 6 years in the U.S. Air Force! He’s on my membership list for the legion.
