Local Rebekahs Participate In Potato Run

Riverside Rebekah Lodge of Baileyville recently participated in the 4th Annual Potato Run, sponsored by the Grand Lodge IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) of Maine, and hosted by Rockabema Lodge of Houlton.   Odd Fellows from as far away as South Berwick gathered in Houlton to load 50# bags of potatoes and take them back for distribution to area food pantries. Some potatoes traveling from Houlton, were dropped off at check points along the way – the first stop being in Bangor.  Representatives from Riverside brought back 300# to be shared between the Calais and Baileyville Food Pantries.  This was the first time for Riverside and they were pleased to be able to participate.  Pictured are some of the Odd Fellows who gathered to help load and to transport, including Grand Master George Stevens and Deputy Grand Master Jerry Gray.
