Happy Thanksgiving!   Nomatter how many troubling issues there are in our lives and the news, there is always something to be thankful about.  Here’s wishing you and yours a blessed day.

Terry Reynolds’ brother Steve and his wife are here from Virginia for the Thanksgiving holiday.  They arrived last Saturday are lodging in the beautiful 2nd floor apartment of Terry’s “garage mahal.” His home is always the gathering place for the Reynolds and extended family’s celebrations. This year, Barry and I are home in Maine for the holiday, and will host his brother and wife and a few friends for dinner.  This is only the second time since 2008 that we are not traveling to be with family. It’s good to be home.

Our dear neighboring cat, Toby, is wounded and taking medication. This is Terry Reynolds’ cat who Scuffy loves to bark about when she sees it out the window from her perch on the steps to our second floor.  It gives her a perfect vantage point up the lane and to Terry’s property.  Billy Doten, Jr. saw a fox, or was it a coyote.  That’s appropriate since he lives on Coyote Lane.  I just have to wonder if Toby tangled with it, or some other critter.  Get well Toby.  Scuffy misses seeing you, and so do we.

When this issue of the Calais Advertiser hits the news stands, it will be only 30 more days until Christmas.  Yikes!  Where does the time go.  We have some really good stores in Calais where we can find most of the things people want for Christmas.  Throughout the coming weeks, we can also celebrate the “reason for the season” at the many beautiful concerts and events hosted by area organizations, schools and churches.
